SOUNDSCAPE NEW YORK

Soundscape Architecture is a multi-year project that highlights the sonic qualities of iconic buildings and spaces. This is a novel way to appreciate the more complex overlap between the sonic and the visual attributes of our built environment. The first project, Soundscape New York, celebrates the aural characteristics of five New York City buildings; Grand Central Terminal, New York Public Library Rose Reading Room, Seagram Building Lobby, Rockefeller Center International Building Lobby, and the Guggenheim Museum. Each building has three different presentations that showcase the sonic features of the spaces.

• Atmospheric animations that pair sound drawings with recordings.
• New musical compositions by composer Troy Rogers.
• Analytical drawings that demonstrate the sonic qualities of each space.
